Millennium
2010 NJ Bass Federation Millennium Events....

Location: Millennium Junior Bassmasters are based in Newfield New Jersey. Newfield is a small town in the extreme southern part of the State.
Purpose: To teach the youth of our club, conservation, sportsmanship and to be an ethical Outdoors person. We teach the skills that these young people will need as an adult, such as, getting along with others, compromising for the better of a group as a whole, how to solve conflict calmly, how to run an organization as Youth Officers and Club Members and many other life skills. Not to mention, we try to teach great fishing skills, and how to have a great time without causing harm to others or the environment.
History: Millennium Junior Bassmasters name has been around for quite a few years, but as their membership started to dwindle down due to the members getting to old to compete, the Club was in jeopardy of shutting down. We (Gloucester County Bass Club) were approached about rebuilding Millennium in September of 2009, we accepted the offer along with the 4 existing members and are now 18 members strong.

Hammonton Lake
On June 5, 2010 Millennium Junior Bassmasters converged on Hammonton Lake, in Atlantic County for their third Points Tournament of the season. Hammonton is a small electric motor only lake, in a small recreational park, with an average depth of around 3 feet. The lake is stocked every spring with trout by the NJ Division of Fish and Game and as with most of the lakes in South Jersey, it has no shortage of stumps.
All together we had 12 members fish the event, 8 contestants from the 11 - 14 age group and 4 from the 15 - 18 age group. Once again this would be a paper tournament, with fish lengths recorded in each contestants and then the fish were immediately released back into the lake. Not very exciting at the weigh-in but, better than not having a tournament at all.
When the smoke cleared Dillon Kelly was victorious once again in the 11 - 14 age group, fresh off a win at Davis Mill. Dillon weighed in 3 bass for a total weight of 2 pounds - 13 ounces. Dillon said that his keepers were caught on a Watermelon/Chartreuse senko. According to Dillon, the fish were close to the shoreline and were holding on docks and natural wood. He said that he had a great time fishing with his partner and would like to thank his Captain Mr. Wilson for all of his hard work and time in helping him figure out a pattern. Great job Dillon!
Second Place in 11 -14 went to Zach Potter with a single fish weighing 1 pound - 7 ounces. Zach also took lunker for the day with his fish. One more point, this was Zach’s first tournament fish weighed in. Congrats Zach.
Third Place went to Alex Glisson with 1 keeper weighing in at 1 pound - 2 ounces. This was also a first tournament fish for Zach. Nice job Zach!
Lucas Domozet rounded out the field for the younger age group weighing in his first tournament fish at 1 pound even. In a side note, Lucas had some equipment failure during the tournament, but we got it fixed for him and he was back in business. Way to hang in there Lucas.
In the 15 - 18 age group, First place went to Conor Cahill wit a 5 fish limit weighing in at 4 pounds - 15 ounces. Although Conor didn’t have any big fish he was on a solid pattern and was able to put together a 5 fish limit, which any experienced tournament angler will tell you, is a must do to be successful in any tournament. Outstanding job Conor!
Second Place went to Codi Mayo, Codi weighed in 2 bass for a total weight of 2 pounds - 5 ounces. According to Codi, most of his bass during the day were caught on 4 inch watermelon Senko. His bass were caught in the weed beds that had stumps in them. Codi thanked his partner Lucas for a fun day and his Captain Mr. Purdy for teaching him a few new techniques while on the water.
Third Place went to Dom Parisi with a catch of 2 bass weighing in at 2 pounds - 2 ounces.
Lunker in the 15 - 18 age group ended in a tie between Codi Mayo and Dom Parisi at a weight of 1 pound - 3 ounces. YTD Results
