Minutes of October 8, 2010 Federation meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 8:05 p.m. by President Tony Going.  Vice President Mike Hart was not in attendance. Environmental Director P.J. Bartolotto was in attendance but left early.

The following chapters were in attendance: Bass Assassin 6; Bass Busters; Big D; Castaway; Central NJ; Gloucester County; Greenback; Jersey Bassmasters; KOBA; Limiters; NJ Bass Hunters, Northern NJ Bassmasters; Over the Ridge; Quickfire; and United.  All other clubs were not in attendance.

Since there was not a quorum of clubs in attendance, President Going deemed the meeting legal.

The Minutes from the September 10, 2010 Federation meeting were read by Recording Secretary Nick Angiulo.

President Going read the Treasury Report in lieu of a replacement Treasurer.  Tony noted that part of the tournament account includes $3,000 that was won by the 2010 State Team, but some of that money will be returned to the General Fund to pay for some of the State Team expenses.  The Treasury Report was accepted via motion/second.

The Tournament Report was given by Al Purdy.  Al recapped the Susquehanna Flats winners.  He also recapped the current top six standings.  The last event will be at the Delaware River.  Al is willing to accept late entries for both Boaters and Co-Anglers.  He reminded everyone that it will be launched out of the West Deptford ramp.

Al stated that the 2011 tournament schedule will be finalized very shortly and will be posted as soon as possible.  Al stated that he was at the last day weigh-in of the TBF Divisional, and was impressed with how the New Jersey Team comported itself.

Tony indicated that the 2011 USO event will be held on Lake George, not the Hudson River as previously reported, on September 11, 2011.

Executive Officer/Youth Director Forest Honeywell indicated that the Junior State Championship was held on September 11, 2010.  The winners, who get to go to the 2011 National Guard Junior World Championship in Hot Springs, Arkansas, were: Jonathan Ladner of the Millennium Junior Bassmasters in the 15-18 age division; and Joseph Mantione of the Next Generation Junior Bassmasters the 11-14 age division.  He stated that $450 was raised at the event, which helped defray the costs of the event.  Forest also read a letter from Nick Goebel and his mother, Lena, thanking the Federation for all its support in helping send Nick to the 2010 National Guard Junior World Championship.  Forest also indicated that a casting event was held by the Riggin-n-Jiggin Junior Bassmasters chapter last month at the NJ Fish and Wildlife Expo held at the Assunpink Wildlife Management area.

Forest next read off a listing of the dates of the 2011 outdoor shows that the Federation will be participating in.  He indicated volunteers to help out at all the shows are welcome and anyone interested should see him or Show Director Joe Poms.  The dates of the shows are posted on the website.  Finally, Forest read a letter he composed indicating that as of December 31, 2010, he would be stepping down as Youth Director but would continue to serve as the Executive Officer until the conclusion of his term in 2011.

President Going sincerely thanked Forest on behalf of the entire Federation for all of his dedication and service to the Federation and to the youth program.

Recording Secretary Angiulo and 2010 State Team Member Doug Peabody recapped the recent TBF Divisional Tournament where the team finished in second place by just one pound.  President Going commended the team and congratulated it for its efforts.

Secretary Bruce Stovall reminded the members about the 2010 Reel to Reel.  The ads and any club articles/photos are due no later than October 30.  Please send them to him electronically if possible.  He also provided the clubs in attendance the packet of documents that need to be filled out for each clubs’ 2011 six-man team, and which are due at the December meeting.

Bruce once again explained the TBF/FLW registration procedure.  He indicated that it will work just like last year.  At the December meeting, club rosters are due with the appropriate amounts for each member and the Federation will then send the dues in for all of the clubs.  Bruce emphasized that he is more than willing to help any club in getting their club rosters completed properly and highly recommended that all clubs register their clubs with the TBF no later than December 1.

Since their nominations were unopposed, Treasurer nominee Joe Belardo and President nominee Tony Going were voted into office via vote by Secretary Bruce Stovall.  [NOTE: Subsequent to the meeting, Joe Belardo indicated that he would be declining the position.  Therefore, the Federation is still looking for a Treasurer.]

Tony stated that only one Lowrance HDS5 unit is left, which is the unit without the map programming.  It will be sold for $475.

A drawing for a Quantum PT rod was held.  The winner was Ted Kaczmarek.  The drawing collected $91.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:12 p.m.
