                        Minutes of November 13, 2009 Federation meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 8:02 p.m. by President Tony Going.  Treasurer, Jim Bartolotto, Tournament Director, Al Purdy and recording Secretary Nick Angiulo were not in attendance.

The following chapters were not in attendance: Bass Assasin 6,Bass Kickers; Bergen (excused); Bucketmouth; Cullin Bass Six; Essex County Bassmasters; First Generation; Gloucester County Bassmasters;  Hawg Heaven; Lake Hopatcong Bassmasters; New  Jersey Bass Hunter; North Jersey Bass Anglers; Raritan Valley Bassmasters; Sunrise.
            
The Minutes from the October 9, 2009 Federation meeting were read by Secretary Bruce Stovall. The minutes were amended to correct a misstatement about Solarbat sunglass sales. The participating Club receives a certain amount from each sale, not the Federation as listed in the minutes. Once amended the minutes were accepted via motion/second. 
            
The Treasury Report was read by VP Mike Hart and was accepted via motion/second. 

President Going recognized Local Bass Fishing Professional, Pete Gluszek was in attendance and relinquished the floor to him. Pete spoke to the members about “The Bass University” a series of informative bass fishing techniques and tactics seminar, that he and Mike Iaconelli have resurrected from the past. This years initial 2 day event will take place on December 5 & 6 just outside Philadelphia. Pete stated that several Pro anglers were lined up to present during the two day event., they include Greg Hackney, Gerald Swindle, Dave Wolak, Dave Mansue, Mike Iaconelli,. He stated that Group discounts are available. Pete thanked President Going for allowing him to plug the Bass University. He hung out till the end of the meeting and spent time with fellow federation members answering questions and telling fish stories.

Executive Officer Forest Honeywell gave a report on upcoming youth events. Honeywell stated that two  casting events are currently planned: one at the Outdoor Sportsman Show January 14-17, and one single day event at the Borger Middle school in Keysbury on January 23, 2010.  A lot of work goes into these events and its truly is rewarding  experience for all who participate. Honeywell is seeking volunteers to work these events, contact him if you are interested in helping work with the next generation of young anglers.   They are the future of our sport.

Chapter of the Year (COY) packages and Nominations for Person of the Year (POY) are due at the December meeting. Presentations for COY will be done at the February 2009 meeting. Selection for both COY and POY will also be made.

Mike Kozub is working hard on the “Reel to Reel”. Again RtR Ads are below last years and continue to decline from the previous years. If you still want to give Mike an ad for the RtR please contact him directly. He may or may not accept them.

Team Tournament paperwork was distributed by Secretary Stovall and is due at the December meeting. For those clubs not in attendance the paperwork may be downloaded from the website.

Secretary Stovall reviewed the Clubs financial responsibilities sheet. Note that FLW dues for 2010 along with TBF dues will be paid through the Federation. Amounts listed on the TBF invoice is the amount that will need to be paid along with other Federation fees at the December meeting. If you have a member who purchased a multi-year FLW membership your clubs  TBF invoice will reflect that and show that nothing is due for that individual. Remember that club secretary is responsible for registering their club, questions about TBF rosters can be addressed to Tonya Cartlidge at The Bass Federation website.

October 3rd, Susquehanna Flats
October 9th, Junior State Qualifying Tournament
October 17th, Delaware River Gloucester City Ramp

Environmental/College Team Director, PJ Bartolotto stated that a full College team has been fielded and is looking forward to the competition next season.

Show Director, Joe Poms stated that the show schedule is on the website and he is looking for volunteers to support shows. Contact him if you are available and would like to represent NJ Bass Federation by working at the show

President Going spoke of the scuttlebutt being thrown around on various websites about the bankruptcy of Genmar Boats. The restructuring is ongoing and should be left to those involved, without speculation.

He also stated that FLW and TBF recently renewed their contract. He reiterated that FLW like our former B.A.S.S affiliate does not own the TBF or the State Federations supporting it. Members of the NJ Bass Federation are the owners of the NJ Bass Federation and no one else.

This months raffle was bait casting fishing rod, $87.00 was collected, the winner was Bob Gilbert.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:26 p.m.
