Minutes of July 9, 2010 Federation meeting
The meeting was called to order at 8:06 p.m. by President Tony Going. All Board members were in attendance.
The following chapters were not in attendance: Back to Back; Bass Assassin 6; Bass Busters (excused); Bass Kickers; Bergen; Berkley; Blazin Bass; Bucketmouth; Clearwater; Cullin’ Bass Six; East Coast; Essex County; First Generation; Greenback; Hi-Way; Jackson; KOBA (excused); Lake Hopatcong; Limiters; North Jersey Bass Hunters; Raritan Valley; United; Warren County.
Since there was not a quorum of clubs in attendance, President Going deemed the meeting legal.
The Minutes from the June 11, 2010 Federation meeting were read by Recording Secretary Nick Angiulo. The minutes were accepted via motion/second.
The Treasury Report was read by Treasurer, Jim Bartolotto. The Treasury Report was accepted via motion/second.
Executive Officer/Youth Director Forest Honeywell indicated that the 2010 National Guard Junior World Championship would be held this August in conjunction with the Forrest Wood Cup at Lake Lanier, Georgia. New Jersey’s youth representatives will be Nikolas Goebel (15-18 age group) and Ari Rosenzweig (11-14 age group). Forest requested $350 per youth to help them with expenses. He also stated that the Bob Cicchetto Memorial Junior State Championship will be held on in October at Picatinny Arsenal. All are welcome to attend. Finally, he indicated that he held a raffle at the Team Tournament which raised $725 for the youth fund.
The Tournament Report was given by Al Purdy. Al stated that the Team Tournament was a great success. He recapped the winning clubs and the top finishers. The top six making the State Team are: Craig Townsend; Dave Frost; Russ Cannici; Derick Olson; Jim Bartolotto; and Alan Zenkert. Jim MacAloney finished seventh and will be the alternate. Secretary Bruce Stovall indicated that he is filing the required report with Vermont regarding the outcome of the event. Tony thanked all the members for their good behavior at the Team Tournament.
Al stated that everything for the upcoming Lake Hopatcong event is set. Al also stated that the Greenwood Lake event will be held as scheduled. As far as he has been told, the boat permit will be necessary and it is being enforced. He has been told of anglers who have been ticketed for failing to have the permit. He indicated that if he can get information regarding how to get the permits, he will have it posted on the website. Al informed the members about a payout discrepancy at Candlewood Lake. He indicated that based on this discrepancy; one extra place was paid in the form of two free entrees.
Vice President Mike Hart indicated that Anglers Select representative Lee Rogers is providing the Federation with tungsten weights for free distribution to the anglers at the Lake Hopatcong event; as well as two bundled packages of weights to be used as free raffle prizes at the event. Anglers Select is also selling the weights for $3.50 per pack at www.anglersselect.com.
Tony thanked member Kaz Dabrowski for the $100 donation he made to the Federation.
Secretary Bruce Stovall reminded the members about the 2010 Reel to Reel. He indicated that he had the letters available for sponsors and each club should take a copy. He stated that clubs should be looking for sponsor ads early.
A drawing for a Quantum PT rod was held. The winner was John Conforte. The drawing collected $80.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 p.m.
