
Minutes of January 8, 2010 Federation meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 8:04 p.m. by Vice President Mike Hart. President Tony Going and Treasurer Jim Bartolotto were not in attendance. Additionally, Tournament Director Al Purdy and Environmental Director P.J. Bartolotto were not in attendance.
The following chapters were not in attendance: Back to Back; Berkley; Bucketmouth; Clearwater (excused); Cullin Bass Six; East Coast Bass Anglers; Essex County; First Generation; Gloucester County; Greenback; Hawg Heaven; Lake Hopatcong; North Jersey Bassmasters; Northern New Jersey Bass Anglers; Over the Ridge; and Quickfire.
The Minutes from the December 11, 2009 Federation meeting were read by Recording Secretary Nick Angiulo. The minutes were accepted via motion/second.
The Treasury Report was read by Vice President Hart in Treasurer Jim Bartolotto’s absence. The Treasury Report was accepted via motion/second.
Show Director Joe Poms indicated that at the upcoming shows, he would be selling Solar Bat sunglasses for $15. The first show is in Edison on from January 14 to January 17. He asked for volunteers to help out and also indicated that Executive Director/Youth Director Forest Honeywell could use help there for the kid’s casting event he will be conducting. He also asked that the show schedule be moved to the front page of the website to allow for maximum exposure. Vice President Hart agreed.
The Tournament Report was deferred until February based on Tournament Director Purdy’s absence.
Vice President Hart indicated that the Bergen Bassmasters was the Club of the Year. He yielded the floor to Bergen member, Nick Albano, who gave the club’s presentation. All in attendance congratulated the club.
Mike reiterated that there were two current nominees for Person of the Year: Elliot Liardo and Doug Peabody. Other nominees were solicited and none were offered. Mike stated that, if the membership agreed, that both could be awarded the Person of the Year, as has been the case in some previous years. He indicated that the membership could decide. No objections were forthcoming. Accordingly, both will be awarded the Person of the Year award. Both members were congratulated by the members in attendance.
Mike indicated that the possible “user fees” for Greenwood Lake and/or Lake Hopatcong were be back on the Legislature’s agenda for consideration.
Secretary Bruce Stovall asked if any club has had any FLW registration issues. If they currently do or have future problems, they can call him directly for assistance. He also confirmed that TBF officials indicated that TBF member cards should be sent out within the next month or so to each club contact.
A 50/50 raffle was held. The winner was Joe Belardo who received $76. The Federation also received $76.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:39 p.m.
